Role Purpose:
Manage production operations, plant-level operational improvement projects, and plant-level continuous improvement efforts for a specific technology or product line. Achieve safety, cost, quality, asset effectiveness, inventory, service, and growth targets.
Key
Responsibilities:
Champion process control and change management efforts to adapt to upstream and downstream operations changes, drive improvement to process capability and mitigate resultant process variation in own department.
Provide supervision to section supervisors, team leaders, technicians and engineers, including effective management of key resources and overall talent management objectives.
Communicate and report department progress to plant staff, division leadership and Manufacturing Effectiveness Council (MEC).
Build and maintain close relationships with other operations departments to share and receive feedback on upstream and downstream operations (e.g., anticipated downtime) and, in turn, optimize performance of production operations.
Build a strong community team with support groups Engineering, IT, OSS to optimize and continually improve performance of production operations.
Deploy Cornings talent management programs within the department to effectively attract, develop, and maintain manufacturing talent, ensures that all salaried employees have training and development plans.
Ensure the protection of Cornings Intellectual Property (IP).
Establish and define expectations for manufacturing competencies within the department.
Approve all process/equipment changes and experimental plans involving the production process, including process improvement, new product trial runs, equipment/tooling redesign, raw material, batch and/or component changes.
Deploy positive employee relations strategy and communicates openly and honestly with employees at all levels
Coordinates and integrates the work of multiple functional groups and systems to produce goods and services while achieving manufacturing targets.
Ensures that production operations are efficient and effective.
Understands and drives improvement in the manufacturing process and support processes.
Promotes organizational effectiveness through innovations and improvements in manufacturing and business processes using defined processes and tools.
Designs, maintains and operates all facilities and equipment to prevent events that could have an adverse impact on people and the environment, cause significant property loss, or result in business interruption.
Required:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts
5-7 years of successful and proven supervisory, team leader and/or section supervisor experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
Experience and accountability for developing, implementing and driving results for MBOs and manufacturing line metrics.
Proven capability to manage, coach, direct and develop salaried exempt and nonexempt employees, training in employee effectiveness, conflict resolution, coaching, listening skills, supervisory effectiveness.
Certified Green Belt.
Training, understanding and demonstrated competence in cost accounting, managing for profitability.
Trained and experienced in fundamentals of safety and health.
Experience managing the talent development strategy for the department, including programs to attract, develop and retain key talent.
Desired:
Exposure to multiple manufacturing processes and corporate network and resources.
Has participated or led a cross-functional team in a manufacturing environment responsible to deliver key improvement initiative or cost reduction program.
Experience and competence of innovation and new product development and delivery, has participated or led a project team responsible to develop and/or launch a new product into manufacturing.
Experience in collaborating, interfacing and communicating upward and outward (Plant, Business and Division).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
